Pride Month and Juneteenth Proclamations

In line with further establishing Glencoe as an inclusive and welcoming community, Village President Howard Roin proclaimed June 2021 as LGBTQ+ Pride Month and June 19, 2021 as Juneteenth.

Glencoe observes Pride Month to recognize the contributions that the LGBTQ+ community and allies have made to welcoming and inclusive communities where all can live freely and authentically. Glencoe celebrates LGBTQ+ residents, employees, business community members, faith community members and visitors, who enrich the community. President Roin encouraged all to celebrate Pride not only in June, but throughout the year. Read the LGBTQ+ Pride Month proclamation here.

Juneteenth is a day that commemorates freedom and independence in the United States, and honors Black history, art and culture, and heritage in the Glencoe community. Village President Howard Roin encouraged all to learn about and celebrate this important day in U.S. history. Read the Juneteenth proclamation here.
