Lake Cook Road Bridge Rehabilitation
Updated April 17, 2020
Beginning Monday, April 13, the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will begin its rehabilitation of the Lake Cook Road bridge over U.S. 41 in Northbrook, weather permitting. To accommodate the work, Lake Cook Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction from just west of Skokie Boulevard to just east of Winona Road. Left turn lanes will remain open.
This project is expected to be completed in late September and includes reconstructing the desk joints, repairing the substructure and deck as well as installing a new deck overlay and approaches.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through the area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be alert for workers and equipment.
Please visit IDOT's website for more information on regional construction projects.
