Development of a Recognition Program
With our already good habits in mind, we can all still benefit from learning what each other is doing to be more sustainable. The Task Force aims to inform Glencoe businesses what their peers in the community are doing, to help businesses learn what resources are available to be sustainable and to promote our business community's sustainable actions to Glencoe residents and the Chicago-land region.
To this end, the Task Force has partnered with the Village’s Business Liaison Team to do the following, among other activities:
- Providing informational resources and encouraging businesses to be sustainable.
- Recognizing businesses that are participating in sustainable practices by giving them a recognition sticker to display in their store window.
- Promote noteworthy actions taken by businesses.
- Publicizing sustainable accomplishments of local businesses.
Applying for the Recognition Program
The program is easy to join—just complete the brief questionnaire indicating what steps you’ve already taken and return it to Village Hall or upload it here on this webpage or e-mail it to Megan Meyer at mmeyer@villageofglencoe.org. After review, the Task Force will provide you a participation sticker to adhere to your business window or door. Businesses that are taking extraordinary steps may be contacted by the Task Force to learn more about how you implemented those practices in your business.
