Pumpkin Smash and Composting

20201103_111416_resizedFourth Annual Pumpkin Smash and Composting Drop-Off Site
Saturday, November 6; 10 a.m.-Noon

Don’t trash it, smash it! Bring your pumpkins to the Glencoe Community Garden at 380 Old Green Bay Road on November 6 from 10 a.m. to Noon., to smash your pumpkin! All pumpkins are then composted as pumpkins are over 90% water, so they are great for our soil (and composting is better than landfills!). Pumpkins should be clean and any candles, yarn, stickers or other decorations should be removed prior to the event or drop-off. Please wear closed-toe shoes, appropriate clothes, and gloves.

Pumpkin Drop-Off: If you are unable to attend the Pumpkin Smash on November 6, there will be a roll-off container for pumpkin drop-off outside the Garden's south gate (300 Harbor St.) on November 1 through November 7. All pumpkins will be composted through Lakeshore Recycling Systems.
