In 1990, the Public Safety Department started the Glencoe Community Holiday Drive, a community service organization providing for the happiness and well-being of local families, low-income seniors and adults with disabilities. Holiday Drive volunteers collect care packages, unwrapped toys, non-perishable foods, paper goods and monetary donations. In 2016 alone, the holiday seasons of 23 area families, 52 low-income seniors and adults with disabilities and hundreds of children were brightened by these donations.
