Summer has arrived! As you and your loved ones enjoy warm summer weather, make sure to check out this month’s exciting community events!

  • Wednesday, June 5: 2019 Senior Scramble
    8 a.m.-1 p.m., Glencoe Golf Club (621 Westley Road)
    Seniors 60 years and older are invited to participate in the Glencoe Golf Club’s 2019 Senior Scramble. This 18-hole competition is followed by a luncheon and prizes. Entry fee is $45, which covers greens fee, riding cart fee and lunch. 
  • Wednesday, June 5: Woodlawn Park-a-Palooza
    4-5:30 p.m., Woodlawn Park (1050 Old Green Bay Road)
    Celebrate the new Woodlawn Park! Spin on the Topsy Turny, race on the zip line and enjoy entertainment and activities throughout the park. 
  • Thursday, June 6: Public Safety Blood Drive
    7 a.m.-1 p.m., Village Hall (675 Village Court)
    Did you know that one pint of blood can save up to three lives? Donate blood at the Public Safety Blood Drive on Thursday, June 6 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Village Hall. Participating donors will receive a free t-shirt! To schedule an appointment, please call Vitalant at (877) 258-4825 or register here using group code GC32. 
  • Thursday, June 6: Sesquicentennial Gala Subcommittee Informational Meeting
    6:30 p.m., Village Hall (675 Village Court)
    Do you know someone in your organization that would be interested in helping to plan the Sesquicentennial Gala (taking place on October 19 at the Chicago Botanic Garden)? The Sesquicentennial Planning Committee is recruiting volunteers to help with logistics, promotions, fundraising and more. Anyone interested in potentially volunteering is invited to this informational meeting. 
  • Friday, June 7: Kids Concert – Alina Celeste
    10-10:45 a.m., Glencoe Public Library (320 Park Avenue)
    Enjoy fun, original tunes in both English and Spanish by Alina Celeste, an international touring, Cuban-American musician. Alina's tunes are catchy and rooted in history. 
  • Friday, June 7: 2nd Annual Bio Blitz
    5:30 p.m., Glencoe Golf Club (621 Westley Road)
    Book your tee time with nature! Bring the whole family for this free, nature-lovers event filled with outdoor fun and educational activities. Identify animal species and meet a screech owl! 
  • Saturday, June 8: Glencoe French Market Opening Day
    8 a.m.-1 p.m., Wyman Green (675 Village Court)
    The Glencoe French Market returns to Wyman Green every Saturday this summer from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., starting on June 8. Be sure to make the Glencoe French Market your every-Saturday-stop for fresh farm produce, locally grown flowers, baked goods and artisan items. 
  • Saturday, June 8: Drag Queen Story Hour
    2:30 p.m., Glencoe Public Library (320 Park Avenue)
    Storytime has never been more fabulous! Two Chicago-area drag queens will lead guests through stories, songs and a craft. Costumes encouraged. 
  • Friday, June 14: Glencoe Under the Stars – Family Service of Glencoe Benefit
    5:30 p.m., Writers Theatre (325 Tudor Court)
    Support and celebrate Family Service of Glencoe (FSG) while enjoying a special performance of the two-time Tony Award winning musical Next to Normal which explores mental health issues and family dynamics. Tickets are limited, so purchase your tickets before it’s too late! 
  • Friday, June 14: Free Art Show
    6-8 p.m., Takiff Center (999 Green Bay Road)
    Stop by the Takiff Center for the Glencoe Park District’s seasonal art show. Enjoy paintings, drawings and ceramics pieces by local art students. Light refreshments will be served. 
  • Monday, June 17: First Meeting of North Shore Alateen
    7-8 p.m., North Shore Congregation Israel (1185 Sheridan Road, enter through north entrance)
    Teenagers ages 12-19 who have been impacted by a loved one’s drinking are invited to attend anonymous weekly meetings to share experiences, strength and hope with others. First meeting is June 19. 
  • Thursdays, June 20-July 25: Park-n-Play
    6-7 p.m., Various Glencoe Parks
    The Glencoe Park District is bringing a fun event to a different Glencoe park each Thursday. Join in for free outdoor crafts, games, sports and more! 
  • Thursday, June 20: Summer Solstice
    6-7 p.m., Shelton Park (251 Harbor Street)
    Celebrate the longest day of the year and the arrival of summer with the Friends of the Green Bay Trail! All are welcome to participate in outdoor activities and sun-related crafts. 
  • Saturday, June 22: Dual Collection Event
    9 a.m.-Noon, Glencoe Metra Station Southeast Commuter Lot
    Doing some spring cleaning? Recycle electronics and safely destruct documents at the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County's (SWANCC) Dual Collection event from 9 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, June 22 at the southeast Glencoe Metra parking lot. 
  • Sunday, June 23: Glencoe History Mysteries
    2-3 p.m., Glencoe Public Library (320 Park Avenue)
    Was Glencoe ever a stop on the Civil War Underground Railway? Did Al Capone have connections to Glencoe? Dig into some of Glencoe’s most popular mysteries with the Sesquicentennial Planning Committee and Glencoe Historical Society at this free community event. 
  • Wednesday, June 26: Feminine Diplomacy
    7-8:30p.m., Takiff Center (999 Green Bay Road)
    Learn about the extraordinary story of women’s suffrage in Illinois at this free program, sponsored by the League of Women Voters Glenview/Glencoe and the Sesquicentennial Planning Committee.
