Downtown Customer Parking

Short-term parking (2-hours or less) is found on most streets in the downtown area. The time limitations are enforced from 7 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. daily with the exception of Sundays and the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. 

Customers who wish to park for longer than two hours can park in the four hour parking zone on the north side of Park Avenue in front of the Glencoe Union Church. 

Overnight Parking

Parking is prohibited on all Glencoe streets and in most Village parking lots between 2 - 6 a.m., unless otherwise posted. Exceptions include Greenwood between Hazel Avenue and Park Avenue (up to 48 hours permitted) as well as the Temple Court lot, between 3 p.m. and 7 a.m. (B-permit required from 7 a.m.-3 p.m.).

When temporary, extraordinary circumstances require that a vehicle be left on the street overnight, please call the Public Safety Department at (847) 835-4112 to request special parking consideration.

Commuter Parking

Commuter Lot Parking Application


Commuters, employees and customers may purchase parking permits at the Village Hall allowing them to park all day in various lots around the train station. Permits are available at a cost of $270 for an annual permit or $75 for a quarterly permit. Individual daily permits can be purchased for $2 each and coin box spaces cost $2 per day.

Permit parking in the commuter lot is enforced weekdays only until 10 a.m. Free commuter lot parking is available after that time, as well as on weekends and holidays. Parking permits can be purchased at Village Hall located 675 Village Court. 

Business Employee Parking

Employee Parking Information


The Village makes special business district permits (B-Permit) available to downtown area employees available to businesses free-of-charge. B-Permits are issued on March 1 of each year in conjunction with business license renewals. All outstanding parking tickets must be paid before issuance of a new permit.

New business district employees may obtain an application anytime from the Public Safety Department during regular business hours (8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday). Employees may obtain a daily parking pass for the designated lots from Public Safety while awaiting application approval.

Unless otherwise specified, all permit zones are enforced Monday through Saturday. B-Permit holders are prohibited from parking outside the designated parking areas during business hours and may be cited for violations.  

Parking Fines

Graduated fines for vehicles parked in excess of the 2-hour time limit will be applied with fines up to $140 per ticket for repeat offenders. Graduated fine amounts will be calculated and limited to violations by any single vehicle on a continual rolling basis.

Parking permits may be revoked until all fines and fees are paid. Vehicle owners with 10 unpaid pickets may have their driver’s license suspended by the State of Illinois. If you have any questions, please contact the Public Safety Department at (847) 835-4112.
