Glencoe Grand Prix Welcome

The Village is excited to welcome the riders and spectators of the 11th Annual Glencoe Grand Prix to downtown Glencoe this weekend! Whether you are racing, cheering on the sidelines or coming downtown for the block party – we hope you have a great day in Glencoe! And while you’re here don’t forget to patronize our downtown businesses including 2017 Grand Prix sponsors Valor, Tudor Wine Bar and Blacksheep General Store. Street Closures

To accommodate the races and block party, various downtown adjacent streets will be closed, or cut down to one lane, throughout the day on Saturday. Here’s a quick list of streets that will be impacted:

Saturday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.:

  • Vernon Avenue from Park Avenue to Hawthorn Avenue
  • Greenwood Avenue and Grove Street from Park Avenue to  South Avenue
  • Park Avenue from Grove Street to Vernon Avenue
  • Hazel Avenue from Greenwood Avenue to Vernon Avenue
  • Hawthorn Avenue from Greenwood Avenue to Vernon Avenue
  • South Avenue from Greenwood Avenue to Grove Street

From 8 a.m.-Noon on Saturday, the intersections of Park Avenue and Vernon Avenue, Hawthorn Avenue and Vernon Avenue, Hawthorn Avenue and South Avenue, Grove Street and South Avenue, and Grove Street and Park Avenue will be cut down to one lane to allow motorists to make turns away from the Short Course.

Saturday, Noon-8 p.m.:
In addition to the closures noted above, the following streets will be closed for the Long Course:

  • South Avenue from Valley Road to Greenwood Avenue
  • Bluff Street
  • Washington Avenue from Valley Road to Bluff Street
  • Valley Road from South Avenue to Washington Avenue
  • Hazel Avenue from South Avenue to Grove Street
