ComEd Installs LED Streetlights

ComEd crews have begun an LED streetlight conversion project this week. The project will replace all existing eligible fixtures with reduced wattage, longer life high efficiency LED fixtures. LED street lighting technology substantially reduces the amount of energy needed to illuminate the roadway, which equates directly into energy savings. ComEd crews are planning to install these fixtures in a manner that minimizes light trespass on surrounding properties, by focusing light on the roadway. A quality control team will ensure the fixtures are property installed and the light is directed to the proper place.

Residents with questions or concerns regarding specific streetlight installation locations should contact the Public Works Department at (847) 835-4111 and those locations will be forwarded to ComEd for review.
