The Plan Commission was adopted by Village ordinance in 1941. The Glencoe Plan Commission is composed of ten members: four citizens appointed by the Village Board for six-year terms, the Village President (ex-officio member), and one member each from the Library, Park, School, Zoning, Historic Preservation Commission and Village Boards. All meetings are open to the public.
The Plan Commission reviews all proposed subdivisions and makes its recommendations to the Village Board. In addition, its architectural control committee reviews the aesthetic quality of buildings proposed for construction in the area zoned for multiple family and business use. The Plan Commission meets on an as needed basis on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. at the Village Hall Council Chamber. Commission members are:
