Ray Irby, Supervisor
Street Division personnel perform various maintenance activities on the Village’s 75 lane miles of streets and 70 miles of sidewalks. Crews perform restoration of compromised pavement including asphalt and concrete repairs, pothole patching, and sign maintenance. During the winter season crews manage snow and ice control operations.
Please report issues with pavement, sidewalks, or signs to Public Works at 835-4111, or email Street Supervisor Ray Irby at rayi@villageofglencoe.org
Street Lights
Street lights located within the Village of Glencoe are either maintained by Commonwealth Edison, or the Village. The Village owned and maintained street lights are located in the following areas:
- Downtown Business District
- All three train station parking lots, including the parking area on the west side of Old Green Bay Road north of the station.
- Hazel Avenue underpass
- Skokie Heights and Skokie Ridge subdivisions
A good rule of thumb, to determine who maintains a given street light, is to pay attention to what material the street light pole is made of. Nearly all the street lights that are the maintenance responsibility of Commonwealth Edison are mounted on wooden utility poles. You can report a Com Ed light outage by phone at (800) EDISON 1 (334-7661) or via email at www.exceloncorp.com.
If you’re unsure of street light responsibility, or would like to report a malfunctioning Village light, contact the Public Works Department at (847) 835-4111 or complete and submit the following online service request form.
