Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC)
Glencoe is a member community of the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC) which offers many recycling programs to its members.
SWANCC publishes a Recycling Etc. community newsletter that is full of recycling information about computers and electronic equipment, document destruction events, compact fluorescent lighbulb (CFL) recycling, medication and “sharps” disposal, household chemical waste collections and much more.

Yard Waste Sticker Program
Effective April 1, 2008, the Village requires a yard waste sticker affixed to yard waste bags placed at the curb for collection (unless you have purchased the Annual Yard Waste Collection Service Subscription). Yard waste stickers cost $2.00 each and are sold at the Village Hall and Grand Foods.
Stickers can be placed on biodegradable paper yard waste bags, garbage cans no larger than 44-gallons, or on bundles of branches and brush. Yard waste will continue to be collected on Wednesdays between April 1 and December 15.

Annual Yard Waste Collection Service Subscription
Effective April 1, 2009, the Village has added a new yard waste collection service. The Annual Yard Waste Collection Subscription will allow subscribers to place up to four (4) cans, bags, or bundles of landscape waste material at the curb each week for the duration of the yardwaste season from April 1 through December 15 without the need for yardwaste stickers.
The Annual Subscription fee is $120, and is non-refundable and will be included on your quarterly Village Utility bill. To subscribe for this service contact the Finance Department at 847-835-4113, or to subscribe on line, go to the Forms section of this web page and form can be filled out and and submitted on line.
