Flood Plain

Home : Public Works : Engineering : Flood Plain

Being in a flood plain means property is affected by an overland source of water, such as a lake or river. Addresses located in a flood plain area are required to purchase flood insurance to protect their property. In general, areas affected by flood plains within the Village of Glencoe are limited to the far west side of the Village along the North Branch of the Chicago River.

Requests for identification and classification of properties within the Village of Glencoe should be directed to the Village Engineer, Christine Van Dornick, P.E., at (847) 835-4111.
