While the Village’s Annual Budget and Treasurer’s Report list compensation paid to Village staff on an annual basis, the Employee Compensation and Benefit Report breaks down these values, highlighting both compensation and the value of benefits received according to position title. 
 
It has been a long-standing policy of the Village to maintain staffing levels at the minimum number of employees required to facilitate the programs and services deemed as essential Village functions.  Employees receive compensation at levels consistent with similar positions in other comparable municipalities.  Non-exempt employees who are required to fulfill exigent staffing needs or who serve in circumstances where overtime is a more cost effective alternative to additional staffing receive overtime pay, by law.  Pension benefits (set by Illinois State law) and other employee benefits are deemed to be consistent with accepted municipal standards.
