Public parking is available in all of Glencoe’s business districts. Parking time limitations in the business districts are generally 2 hours, Monday through Saturday, with a few limited areas for short term parking of 15 minutes or less. Please obey posted regulation signs. Parking is not allowed on Village streets from 2 AM to 6 AM daily except where posted otherwise. If you or your guests plan to park overnight, notify Public Safety by calling (847) 835-4112. There are 1348 available public parking spaces within the business districts.

Short-term parking (2 hours or less) is found on most streets in the central business district. The time limitations are enforced from 7 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. daily with the exception of Sundays and the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. Customers who wish to park for longer than two hours can park in the four hour parking zone on the north side of Park Avenue in front of the Glencoe Union Church. While the four hour zone may not be as convenient as the short term spaces, the parking is free and customers are encouraged to use it.

Commuters, employees, and customers may purchase parking permits at the Village Hall allowing them to park all day in various lots around the train station. Permits are available at a cost of $270 for an annual permit of $75 for a quaterly permit. Individual daily permits can be purchased fro $2.00 each; coin box spaces cost $2.00 per day. Permit parking in the commuter lot is enforced weekdays only until 10 a.m. Free commuter lot parking is available after that time, as well as on weekends and holidays. Parking permits can be purchased at Village Hall located 675 Village Court.

Business Employee Parking
All current business district employee B-Permits will be reissued on March 1st of each year. B-Permits are issued free of charge. New employee parking permit applications will be available to business owners/managers and employees at the Department of Public Safety during normal business hours. Any outstanding tickets/fines must be paid prior to issuance of the permit. Employees may obtain a daily parking pass for the designated lots at Glencoe Village Hall or Public Safety while awaiting application approval. Unless otherwise specified, all permit zones are enforced Monday through Saturday. B-Permit holders are prohibited from parking outside the designated parking areas during business hours and may be cited for violations.

Graduated fines for vehicles parked in excess of the two-hour time limit will be applied with fines up to $140.00 per ticket for repeat offenders. Graduated fine amounts will be calculatd and limted to violations by any single vehicle on a continual rolling basis.
